Curiosity of the Day: Ten of Wands (Rev.)

Everyone is talking about the eclipse in Taurus today, it’s gonna be pretty dramatic. It will bring changes, goodbyes and new beginnings.

I think for a lot of us, the past 1.5 year has been dramatic, the world as we know it is no more, and as we try to embrace the new world, we tend to take on quite a load.

When Ten of Wands turns up reversed, traditionally it means we might be carrying too big of a burden, just like the man here, carrying all ten wands together at the same time. And this burden is taking its toll on us. We’re starting to lose grips on the load and probably at the brink of sanity…

What can we do to lighten our load?

We need to prioritise, obvi. See the bigger picture at stake. Sit down, list our own “ten wands” and rank them in order of importance, carry them in lesser load at a time, perhaps even just one at a time. For those wands we cannot carry, delegate them. Learn to trust others and hand over some of the responsibilities. It’s unnecessary and definitely unsustainable to keep the burdens all to ourselves.

Most things in life aren’t easy, they can get rather heavy sometimes, the important thing for us to bear in mind is that, we shouldn’t get too weighed down by life. Try to take things lightly and watch out for the demanding superegos around us and within ourselves.

There is also a twist to the Ten of Wands. These ten wands could symbolise all available energies, resources, instincts, purposes and motives. We can choose to take them all, and to accept life in its totality unconditionally and committing ourselves wholeheartedly. This is especially true if we are taking on a new project, or starting a new (chapter in our) life right now. Throw away the old burdens and wake up to what’s actually going on. Devote ourselves to the new project, the new life or the life we’re actively seeking, give it our undivided attention and affection. Nurture it until it becomes a beautiful butterfly 🦋.
