Today’s curiosity is dedicated to my dear friend Simon, who’s asked for direction because he is feeling stuck. Let’s see what the Tarot card says.
According to Dali, this card is a symbol of searching, of awareness and of intuitive perception. Just like in Simon’s life, many things are changing and growing; just like the hunter in the card, we need to be intuitively alert and vigilant. If our perceptions have been heightened, we will be able to understand the motives or hidden interest behind certain actions. We will be able to find the “green man” in the woods – the nature around us and within. Be quick to listen and be slow to speak.

We should deliberately not let ourselves get lost in the daily routines and repetitions, we need some kind of ritual, whether it is a moment of stillness, enjoying a meal or drink slowly and away from our laptops or TVs, or a short walk in woods or on the beach, it will help us to let go of presumptions and be true to our actual perception. This card also challenges us to live life to the fullest, abandon our old fears and fulfil the most important wishes, however small or insignificant they might seem to others.
To apply the message from Nine of Wands in reverse more specifically to Simon’s situation, his feeling of being stuck might actually be a feeling of exhaustion – exhaustion from defending what belongs to him, against the world. He is at the brink of giving up, he is losing his inner fire. If this also resonates with you, you must find another way to reconcile things. Instead of standing guard and playing defensive of what you’ve obtained in the past, try let it go and progress forward, to be more actively engaged, to be on the offence and to acquire rather than merely protect for once.
Although the Nine of Wands in reverse is a signal for fatigue, reaching the point of burnout; now we might feel as though we have too many responsibilities and that we are on our own without any support, we must learn to push forward, because we are so close to victory and there is only a little bit left towards the completion of the journey.
