Today is a very special day: Winter Solstice meets the Jupiter/Saturn Great Conjunction in the sign of Aquarius at 0°29’. This alignment happens every 20 years or so, and it hasn’t happened in an Air sign for a very long time. It is for sure the beginning of a new era.

The energy of this time’s Great Conjunction is more powerful than ever, since it’s happening at (almost) 0°. It will shift our 2-century-long focus from material world concerns (since 1802, all great conjunctions have been in Earth signs), to creativity and new inventions. Aquarius energy also brings healing power to the collective.
In the Chinese Astrology, Winter Solstice (冬至) marks the return of the Yang (陽) energy. According to I Tjing or I Ching (易經) and Ba Gua (八卦), it’s time to look for a clear direction, rest and restore, take a pause to observe the environment you’re in, repair what needs to be repaired immediately, and let go of the things that no longer serve you. Traditionally people also eat filled glutinous rice ball – Tang Yuan (湯圓 – represents unity) or Wan Tan (餛飩 – symbolic for clarity), find their Word of the Year (best done through mediations) and make wishes for the new year.
With above said, there’s really no better moment than today, to up your spiritual game and set positive intentions for 2021.
Now let’s find out, which Oracle card I drew, what my Word of the Year (WOY) is and how to make wishes, the proper way. ☺️
The card I drew for this occasion is The Great Gathering: things are finally becoming clear and what we’ve been working on is getting closer to completion. This is a great omen considering a lot of countries have already started the vaccination and perhaps, the time of healing has finally arrived along with this Great Conjunction!
This card calls us to let our intuitions move us physically. We need to connect with others who are like us at a soul level, and stop hanging out with someone just because we need the company or afraid to say no.
It also tells us that we need to share our voice and let ourselves be seen, let who we truly are shines through and dedicate our lives to something greater than ourselves. Just like the Great Conjunction moving from the materialistic focus to a more humanitarian one.
This new age of Aquarius will give us the courage to take a leap of faith towards what our inner voices have been calling us. It will definitely bring together like-minded people, and they will find power, love and support in one another, to follow their missions and dreams.

Before you set your WOY and make your wishes, ensure you’ve cleared your thoughts first, and are relaxed, you can achieve this by meditating or taking a few deep (controlled) breaths. The word may come to you during your meditation.
What you need to make your wishes/set your intentions:
- 1 traditional Chinese “Red Envelope”🧧- Hong Bao (紅包). You can also use a red sachet if you don’t have a Hong Bao
- 1 piece of paper to write your wishes/intentions on and a pen to write with
- (Optional) a piece of talisman or crystal that helps enhancing your intentions/wishes. i.e. peridot to attract abundance, rose quartz to attract love.
In the past few weeks, I’ve noticed that most of my issues are caused by the fact that I don’t really see things clearly. I tend to look at a situation the way I wish it to turn out, rather than the way it actually is. I want to have crystal clear visions, both mentally and spiritually.
So, I set CLARITY as my Word of the Year (WOY).

After you have set your WOY, write this word on the piece of paper. Then write under it, your top 3 wishes/intentions, you can of course write more than three, but the more you have on your list and mind, the less you will be able to really focus your energy on any one specific goal.
Put the paper with your WOY and wishes/intentions in the envelope, along with the talisman or crystal if using, seal the bag and put it under your pillow.
On 20 January 2021, you can remove the envelope from under your pillow, put it somewhere safe or in your purse until your wishes have come true.

Happy Winter Solstice! 😘
