I was in the middle of the town square, it was rather crowded but it didn’t bother me.
When I looked up, I saw the church clock tower standing proudly against the bright blue sky, with its nave on the right, it was breathtaking. I couldn’t tell what kind of architecture it was though, perhaps it was Gothic.
Moving closer, it was a middle-century-looking building, I guess it was the city hall, its colors were a combination of pastel, and yet vibrant pink and purple. I wanted to take a photo with my phone, but all the angles I tried with, just didn’t work. It frustrated me that I couldn’t capture the beauty that’s right in front of my eyes.

On the right side, it was the Summer Palace from the Forbidden City. I was in awe, I turned around and wanted to tell Mr. H how delightfully surprised I was, but I couldn’t find him, somehow and somewhere I’ve lost him. I texted Mr. H: “remember our last trip to Vienna? You won’t believe what I’m looking at. They have moved the Summer Palace here, how fascinating! It must be a cross cultural collaboration thing. You must come over and see it!” I was disappointed that he wasn’t here to share this moment with me. Mr. H is still the first person comes to mind when I have something that I want to share.
I guess I was standing in the middle of the town square in Vienna…
I quickly overcame my disappointment, and walked straight towards the Summer Palace. Inside, it was nothing like the Palace in the Forbidden City, it was more of a medieval theme-park. I ordered Coke and joined some strangers at a round table. In front of us, there were families and kids playing joyfully. No one was wearing a mask, we were sitting rather close to one another while being served drinks and food. Nobody seemed to care about the COVID-19 measurements. I grew a bit concerned…
The alarm went off and I woke up.
